If you are looking for free breast cancer screening, timely medical attention, or a free breast ultrasound in Lagos, you can access these vital health checks without financial barriers.
In its fourth consecutive year, STL Capital Group has partnered with the Care Organisation Public Enlightenment (COPE) to provide free breast cancer screening, public education, and awareness walks to encourage early detection and save lives.
Where and When to Get Free Breast Cancer Screening
Through this partnership, COPE offers free breast ultrasound screening every third Saturday of the month.
This initiative is designed to provide women (and men) with access to critical health checks, removing the financial barriers that often prevent people from seeking a diagnosis.
Critical Breast Cancer Symptoms to Watch For
According to Ebunola Anibaba, Founder and CEO of COPE, you should seek immediate medical assessment if you notice any unusual changes in your body, including:
- Breast lumps or thickening
- Changes in breast size or shape
- Nipple inversion (nipple turning inward)
- Unusual discharge from the nipple
- Skin puckering or dimpling around the breast area
Anibaba emphasizes that fear of a diagnosis should never prevent you from getting screened. Timely intervention and early diagnosis significantly improve treatment options and survival outcomes.
Expanding Health Advocacy and Awareness
To mark this year’s initiative, STL Capital Group and COPE hosted an 8km breast cancer awareness walk, distributing educational materials and flyers to both men and women.
“Breast cancer is not gender-sensitive,” said Funmi Ekundayo, Group Managing Director of STL Capital Group. “We believe people should take advantage of these opportunities to get screened, as early detection saves lives. We are passionate about supporting COPE and are delighted to continue partnering with them.”
Following its evolution from STL Trustees into a capital market holding company with three companies under its structure, STL Capital Group has expanded its corporate social responsibility (CSR) support to reach more people through sustained public health advocacy.
A Call for Corporate Support in Public Health
The impact of cancer remains a major health concern, requiring more hands on deck. Akin Oni, Executive Director of STL Capital Group, urged other corporate organizations to step up their contributions to public health initiatives, whether focusing on cancer, polio, or other pressing medical needs.
By bridging the gap between fear and education, corporate partnerships like the one between STL Capital Group and COPE continue to advance health education, encourage early detection, and support healthier communities.
